Paradigm is the Troops’ Link Home from the Gulf

Paradigm Services has been satisfying UK MOD requirements for a welfare communications service for troops on ‘entitled operations’ overseas since April 2000. Initially, this entailed provision of telecommunications facilities, but the service soon expanded to incorporate Internet / E-mail access in all new theatres. The troops had never before been able to keep in touch with home so easily – a vital part of morale whilst away. |

A dramatic attempt to climb to the summit of the world’s highest mountain was announced on 4th February 2003 by Admiral Sir Jonathon Band KCB, Commander-in-Chief Fleet. A team of ten climbers and three support managers from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines (RN.RM) will mount the expedition to conquer Everest in April 2003, using one of the most technically challenging routes. Once at the top, the climbers will attempt a ‘world first’ by broadcasting live footage from Everest’s summit. |

European Nations Submit Joint NATO Milsatcom Solution

The Ministries of Defence of France, Italy and the United Kingdom have jointly submitted an initial proposal to meet the NATO SATCOM Post-2000 capability requirement for SHF and UHF space segment. Alcatel Space, Alenia Spazio and Paradigm Secure Communications, as the national military satellite communication (Milsatcom) providers of these countries, have prepared major inputs to their governments in the submission of this innovative proposal. |

Paradigm first MOD contractor to receive Chief of Defence Logistics Commendation

At an award ceremony on 30th May 2002, General Sir Sam Cowan, Chief of Defence Logistics (CDL), presented the Paradigm team with a CDL Commendation in recognition of its outstanding contribution towards the success of Exercise SAIF SAREEA II; the UK's largest military exercise for 15 years, which took place in the remote terrain of the Omani desert at the end of last year. |
