HR Advisor
To provide a dedicated HR advisory and support service to line management ensuring that HR/Training policies and procedures are effectively implemented in line with the business objectives. Internal & External Relationships Internal As necessary, to work with the Human Resources Director (HRD) to resolve day-to-day issues, and communicating current actions. Advise, influence and persuade line managers. Day to day contact with employees, responding to queries and providing information. Regular contact with other HR/Training specialists to seek advice, and working as part of a team with other HR/Training staff. External Liaison with recruitment agencies, advertising agencies and international relocation organisations. Contact with candidates for employment. Contact with professional organisations (e.g. EEF, CIPD) to gather information/advice. Main Activities· Assist managers with job analysis activities and recruitment (internal and external) based on forward load requirements. · Attract and retain high calibre employees. · Provide advice to managers on employee relations and employee development issues. · Undertake employee counselling and initiate/facilitate performance improvement programmes. · Development and delivery of training on HR- related issues in conjunction with Employee Development Advisor. · Prepare Training Plans. · Production and monitoring of key HR performance indicators, such as turnover, absence, overtime, recruitment, etc. · Facilitate the formal communication process. · Develop and manage preferred supplier relationships. · Support HRD in relation to the Joint Consultative Committee
Qualifications and Skills:
Degree level qualification and CIPD professional qualification. Minimum of 3 - 5 years in an HR/Training role, preferably with 1 - 2 years in a manufacturing/engineering environment. Key Figures Supporting HRD to provide an HR service to circa 200
