Paradigm reaches agreement with UK MOD
on Skynet 5 terms

Paradigm Secure Communications (PSC), a company wholly owned by EADS, announces it has reached agreement with the MOD in relation to the terms and conditions of the Skynet 5 programme and service provision to MOD commenced on 30th May 2003. 

PSC further announces that the three Mandated Lead Arrangers have now confirmed credit approval to proceed with the first round of banking syndication in support of this project under the Private Finance Initiative which will be implemented immediately by BNP-Paribas, CIBC and HSBC.

The Skynet 5 program entails PSC delivering secure global military satellite communications to the UK armed forces in the form of a service provision contract worth approximately £2 billion over two decades.

Paradigm Secure Communications (PSC), une filiale à 100% d’EADS, annonce qu’elle s’est mise d’accord avec le Ministère de la Défense britannique sur les conditions contractuelles  du programme Skynet 5. La fourniture de service au MOD a commencé le 30 mai 2003. 

PSC annonce par ailleurs que trois banques chefs de file ont maintenant confirmé l’autorisation de crédit nécessaire à l’engagement de la première étape de la syndication de crédit bancaire pour lancer ce projet dans le cadre d’une formule de financement privée qui sera mis en place par la BNP-Paribas, CIBC et HSBC dès maintenant.

Le programme Skynet 5 prévoit la fourniture de communications militaires sécurisées par satellites aux forces armées britanniques sous la forme d’un contrat de prestation de services d’un montant de 2 milliards de £ sur une vingtaine d’années.
