Paradigm Secure Communications is under contract to the UK MOD for Skynet 5, for the first time delivering secure global military satellite communications (milsatcoms) to the UK armed forces in the form of a service provision contract. Worth around £2.5 billion over the 15 year contract period, this service is being procured under a Private Finance Initiative (PFI).

Under PFI, these Skynet 5 secure communication services are also available to non-UK armed forces, governments, organisations and businesses all around the world. PFI provides a highly flexible and cost effective service provision solution, eliminating the risks of managing the space system and benefiting from evolving technologies and increasing capacity available.
