Bantam Terminals

User friendly satellite communications deployable anywhere

Bantam™ terminals have been developed from an existing COTS platform to provide a solution for tasks where there is a particular need to minimise weight; volume; deployment time ; crew size; operating complexity and cost.

These terminals are capable of discrete deployment by land, air and sea in both military and commercial platforms.

The WAN service using Bantam terminals was originally designed and developed to extend any communications service available in the UK Defence infrastructure out to the deployed site. They deliver both ISDN and broadband managed satellite service connectivity back to the required core network.

The Fly-Away and Drive-Away deployable terminals utilise common components enabling simpler training, easier support, and in-field flexibility.

Key features

  • Ease of use. Relatively unskilled operator can assemble the terminal and be on air within 30 minutes
  • Component commonality. The range of terminals uses common modem, control and RF chain, reducing training and ILS overheads
  • Powered from DC or AC sources
  • Auto Acquire/Track. Satellites can be acquired with ease using the built in control system. System then stays locked
  • All terminals certified for use on the Skynet system
  • A range of antenna sizes available
  • Smaller terminals dual band ready (X and Ku) Larger terminals quad band ready (X, Ku, C, Ka)
